It will stop raining eventually (part 3: conclusion)

Hi everybody, hope that you have enjoyed the first two parts. This story is not like those typical stories that I do write which are more than 8 parts and a total of 30 000 words or more. This story is pretty short so if you expect a 10000 word conclusion, sorry to disappoint. Just to highlight,  my friend would like to advertise on my blog. Haha, really advertise. This is the following URL:

So lets conclude...

“If I were to do or tell you something, would it change your decision?” his words seemed to strike me with a bolt of lightning.

He pulled over to a quiet place and there was an awkward silence for a few seconds. I stared at him, wondering what he would do or tell me. I was a bit afraid that he would do something extreme as I was sitting inside his vehicle, not knowing what to do next. The droplets of water that hit the windscreen became more frequent and larger as the pelting rain started to make subdued noises.

At the next moment, he just got out of the car and ran over to my window. I tried to grab him back but I could not, it was too late. As I winded down the window, I could feel the water droplets started to splash in a little and my hand was slightly wet but it was a stark contrast to him being already drenched in the rain.

“Can you be my girlfriend?” he took out a ring from his pocket as he knelt down a little.

I opened my mouth with disbelief, I shook my head not because I did not want to be his girlfriend. I would love to be right now, but I did not know that he would go to such a big extent.

“Through bad times or good times, I would take care of you and hopefully for the rest of my life. I hope you would change your mind, and accept me instead,” he shouted out as his voice was partially drowned by the heavy rain.

“Get inside, you fool. You would get sick if you stand out there any longer,” I pulled his arm as I waved my other hand to beckon him back into the vehicle.

“As long as you accept me, it’s worth it,” he tried to be as clear as he could but the rain drops were going into his mouth stifling partially the sound from his voice box.

“Rick, I am so touched by what you did, you really hold a very high position in my heart, but I cannot be with you, I am so sorry,” my heart ached not for him as my tears flew profusely down to my cheeks.

I could see that Rick was disappointed, he did not budge a single inch as he partially knelt there, his head went down. I could not see his facial expressions but he was drenched to the skin.

“Rick, don’t stay there, please. You would fall sick,” I begged him as I tried to shook his shoulders continuously

A mixture of anger and love started to send an adrenaline flowing through my whole body. I opened the car door as I knocked him partially down to the floor and he was in a daze.

“Why are you so foolish? Why are you putting me on the spot? Why do you love me so much? Why did you tell me only now,” I continuously hit him on the body, crying, knowing that all the questions that shot out of my mouth would be left unanswered.

He seemed to recover instantly from the daze and he wrapped his arms around me tightly as if protecting me from the rain. He grabbed my wrist and ran to the nearby shelter.

I was soaked too as I could feel the wetness of his skin on mine. I could not tell whether he cried as the rain drops on top of his head was flowing down to his cheeks. I tried to endure an endless turbulence of emotions from coming my way but I could only hold this much as a tear trickled down my cheek with a curve trajectory into my mouth and merged with a raindrop. The salinity of the tear seemed to add more pain in my heart as my decision-making seemed to be blurred.

“Rick, please…… don’t give me too much pressure,” my chest hurt a little as my legs felt like jelly, wanting to just crumble to the floor and break down.

As Rick held me tightly, he tried to kiss me but I resisted. As I struggled from his firm hold on me, I managed to break free of my right arm and I gave him a tight slap.

“I do have a mental connection with you, but I have a boyfriend now. I cannot have any physical contact with you anymore,” I looked at my hand at dismay and my stammering projected out my scared emotions.

Rick felt his face in disbelief as he let go of me gently.

“I just wanted to kiss your forehead and hope that you would be well and good with your new boyfriend. I did not know that you would react in an adverse way,” his disappointment seemed to be etched all over his face in a much elaborate tone than earlier.

I did not bother to look at the direction of the voice. I did not want to reply but I just walked away. As my pace went up a notch or two, I felt I was a distance away from him, but I did not want to turn back. I froze in my steps for a while, hoping that he would run towards me, but I knew that he did not. It was from there, that I hardly talk to him anymore.

Through the months, I enjoyed Andy’s company a lot and our love became stronger. Although I did message to Rick every now and then, his reply was brief and short and not frequent. Sometimes he would give me some advice here and there.

It was one afternoon when it was the first time that Rick initiated the conversation. The message read, “I need to tell you something, it’s quite important. Hope you can meet at the usual place that we normally meet.”

I still remembered the place.. It was evening and I walked towards the cafe. I felt nostalgic as I used to frequent here often with Rick.

As I pulled the heavy metal chair across Rick, Rick greeted me with a faint smile.

“It’s been quite a long while since we last met,” Rick’s opening statement seemed to be expected.

“I still care for you all these while, you still hold a special place in my heart, Rick,” my words seemed to make his hands go towards mine as I withdrew them from the table.

“You have something to say?” I was trying to distract him from his glances at me.

“You have not told me your boyfriend’s name, but I believe its Andy right? I guessed it’s a pretty small world. Andy is introduced by me from a mutual friend of ours in one of the regular drinking places that we used to go to. He is a nice and cheerful chap. I got to know that he is your boyfriend was because I accidentally saw your picture and his together on his mobile phone, but when I asked him whether he has a girlfriend or not, he seemed to be elusive. On that night, he was very close with another woman,” his long explanation was punctuated by a group photo that was taken with Andy putting his arm around the woman.

At first I felt infuriated but I tried to calm myself down. “He still loves me very much,” I chanted in my head umpteen times.

“Are you alright, Alicia?” Rick woke me up from a stupor.

“I am fine. Maybe I am thinking too much. I would not want to speculate on anything,” I consoled myself.

“Well, although we don’t talk much, I still care for you from time to time. At least now I have the courage to see you again and not feel heart-broken. I don’t want you to get hurt or being made used by other men. Andy gives me the impression that he is a smooth talker and he knows how to get things his way, but anyway maybe in the future, I hope that you can work things out with him,” Andy’s words seemed to have a limited impact on me.

Two months later,

My friend had something on and had to cancel the dinner appointment with her. Thinking to give Andy a surprise, I did not want to call him to tell him that I would be seeing him. Even if he is not at home, I would just make myself comfortable at home as sometimes I would sleep over at his home.

Something was amiss as I saw a pair of red high-heels on the floor beside his pair of shoes. Those heels were definitely not mine and they looked kind of familiar but I could not recall at that point of time. The gate was closed but not locked and the wooden door was slightly ajar.

As I tip-toed into the room, I could not hear any noise. They could be inside the bedroom. My temperature was starting to boil. What Rick had told me could be true. He could be playing behind my back, I thought. To think that I trust him so much, it could be that he knew that I had a dinner appointment and took this opportunity to have a good time with another woman.

The living room was empty, hardly anything was out of position as I saw two glasses of water which seemed to be half-drunk on the table. The bedroom door was slightly ajar.

I crept slowly towards the door as wild thoughts meandered around my mind. I hate to see Andy cheating on me, and I wanted to turn away and walked out, but I could not. I wanted to know what he was doing, I want to confirm my thoughts and feelings that Andy was cheating me. It’s my intuition that grew stronger in me that Andy was starting to lose interest in me.

As I cautiously peered into the bedroom, I could not believe what I saw. I tried to hold back my emotions but I wanted to see what was developing. Andy was kissing another girl in the bed. I could see his hands were all over her and vice versa. As Andy unbuttoned her blouse, I could see that Andy was very wild and passionate.

“I love to play games with you, Belinda. Let’s play a different game today,” Andy grinned naughtily.

“You naughty boy, have you locked the gate? I think you forgotten. Can you go lock it,” Belinda’s voice sounded abit hoarse and very sexy as I finally got to see her face. I could also see her blouse was half-unbuttoned and part of her bra was exposed. It was the same picture as the one that Rick showed to me!

As Andy was about to approach the door, I slammed the door wide-open, almost hitting Andy.

“Andy, you bastard,” my hand was targeting at his face the moment I spoke out the three words.

Andy raised his arm to block me first, as he reacted very fast to my attempted attack.

“Andy, who is this woman? Belinda cried out as she tried to button up her blouse.

I went over and attempted to pull Belinda by her blouse and gave her one tight slap on the face.

“Andy, what is it that she has that I don’t have?” the colour of my mood was green, obviously jealous of her voluptuous body when I peeked but I knew that I am no inferior to her too in terms of looks and figure.

“Its not the right time for me to explain now, Belinda, I think you leave us alone. I would talk to you another day,” Andy spoke with a heavy sign and I could see that Belinda did not show any feelings of any sort when she took her bag and left.

As Andy closed the gate, I stared at Andy. He looked so cool and calm, a great contrast to how I felt.

“She is someone that I have business dealings with. We are very close and its just at the spur of the moment,..”Andy put his hands on my shoulder but I moved away from him which interrupted his sentence.

“You are the woman I love, Alicia. I admit I am in the wrong, but would you forgive me?” Andy’s voice started to show some remorse but I was trying not to be moved by his words.

“Are you sure?” I am feeling doubtful about what he said, as I felt confused.

He didn’t say anything but he just grabbed me and kissed me as his hands roamed all around me. I felt seduced by his silence and his actions, but yet not convinced by his words.

As he tried to undress me, I struggled and resisted.

“What are you doing, Andy? I am not in the mood for this,” my irritation grew as he tried to take advantage of me.

“Come on, baby, let me just pamper you tonight,” his words sent my blood boiling to the maximum temperature.

“Andy! Stop! Just now you were going to your fun with another woman and since you got caught by me, you want me to satisfy your desires instead. Do you have any regards to my feelings or not?” my screams at him were punctuated with a tight slap across his face.

“I told you about my situation with Belinda. I truly love you,” his stern stare into my eyes hardly convinced me in any way.

I did not even bother to speak a single word as I brush my clothes to make it neat and got out of the apartment even though he repeatedly call me to come back. I knew that I was determined to end this once and for all.

It was painful though, as I am single again right now. I still feel emotionally attached to Rick although it faded over the months. I had enough of Andy’s lies and I did not want to trust this kind of man anymore. It was only a few months later that I decided to take a gamble and ask Rick out.

“You looked very worried, anything happened between you and Andy?” Rick’s voice was etched with concern and it was obvious that he did not know about this matter at all.

“We broke up a few months ago. He is involved with the woman in the picture that you showed to me,” I was trying to hold back my tears but I could not as a few trickled down my cheek.

“Rick, I have made a few mistakes in the past, and choosing Andy was one of the greatest one that I have made,” I was trying to think of a way to hint to him if I could be with him but I did not want to make Rick feel that he was a backup to Andy.

“Actually, I can read your mind, Alicia. Even till now, I still miss you a lot. You hold a very special place in my heart and it’s very difficult for a woman to actually replace you. I would still want to be with you if you allow me to,” Rick’s words were assuring as his hands put on top of mine.

Rick took out the ring, it was the same ring that he showed me many months ago. I did not hesitate but to take the ring and put it in my hand.

“Let me decide if I would want to wear the ring and on which finger,” my cheeky reply was met with a wide smile on Rick’s face.

As we just grabbed each other’s hands across the table, there were no words spoken as we understood each other. It felt like the rain which had poured for many months had stopped eventually…

It will stop raining eventually (part 2)

Hi everybody, hope that you have enjoyed part 1. When I was writing part 2, I felt that my emotions were riding to a new high and that of a new low at the next moment. It was really a challenge to fit all of it together. But anyway before I let you all go to read on the second part. My friend would like to advertise on my blog. Haha, really advertise. So lets get part 2 rolling out...

My thoughts meandered around my mind. Even though I did not see Andy for eight years, the moment when I saw him in just less than 8 hours ago, I felt that my last kiss with him in the airport before he went to the States was just yesterday.

“Come sit down,” as he tugged my hand…

The moment I sat down on his bed, he held my hand tightly.

“Do you know that I do think of you from time to time in the States? But I was thinking that you would have another man along the way and that I was hoping that if you were to tell me that you have someone, I would move on,” he pouted his lips as he ended his statement.

“I really wanted to be with you, but you told me that a long distance relationship might not work out between us. I felt heart-broken for quite a long while that I had to lose you just like that, but I really had to take this golden opportunity to go to the States to advance my career,” he continued his statement before I could start to speak.

I was moved by his words, they not only oozed out sincerity but they came from the bottom of his heart. The Andy that I knew 8 years plus ago and that of now, did not change much. It was only circumstances that tore us apart.

“Now that you are single again, I am determined to make you my woman,” his emphasis on the last few words seemed to be very impactful.

“Do you have anyone else in mind?” his question seemed to stun me for a while, I did not know how to answer it at that point of time.

“I…” I hesitated for a while, as I wanted to say yes.

Before another word could come from my mouth, he started to kiss me in the lips. It was totally magical, we seemed to know what we wanted from each other. As our mouths engaged, our kisses were wet, passionate and deep. Our hands just caressed every part of each other’s body to wherever we can.

As he started to unbutton my blouse, our lips broke off and I just pulled off his t-shirt and threw it behind me. I felt his body everywhere especially his well-toned chest.  His hands were shaking at the last two buttons as my black bra slowly revealed and he pulled my blouse off me. I liked the aggression from him as he just pushed me down and my whole body landed on the bed with a light thud. As he went on top of me, an inner power seemed to surge through him, every part of his body seemed to be electrified by the energy flowing throughout his whole body. His hands just went straight to my sensitive areas and he started to kiss my cleavage down to my stomach. After so many years, he still remembered what I liked. All I could do was just touch his head from time to time as I felt very helpless and vulnerable.

As he held me up a little, he unzipped the side of my skirt as he pulled off my skirt and just threw it aside. Everything seemed so fast and it was as if I was immersed in a kaleidoscope of emotions.

“Eat me up, dear,” my words were minced in between my moans as I shivered with every kiss and touch.

As he removed my bra, his soft kisses on my nipples nearly sent me up to the roof literally. As his tongue circled around it, I could not help but grabbed his head, making his head want to sink into my breasts softly. I felt that I had lost control of myself as all my inhibitions were gone in front of him. I felt like a shameless slut in front of him, but I enjoyed it very much.  As his kisses went all around me from my breasts down to my stomach, he grabbed onto my panties and just pulled it off in one single motion. I felt more turned-on with his rising aggression towards me.

"Oh, What are you doing to me?" my words were muffled in between exchanges of kisses as I got up and struggled to pull his trousers and his underwear off in one single motion.

Eventually I managed to pull off everything off him as our bare bodies rubbed each other. After more than eight years, we still know what we wanted from each other. Every kiss and touch was just the right response from the other party as the passionate fire deep inside us grew.

As he sat near the tip of the heart-shape, his legs slightly dangled over the edge. I faced him, I breathed heavily and I straddled on his lap. As I lowered myself near to his manhood, I could feel his shivers. Putting my hands on his shoulders, I started to put my mouth into his forcefully. My legs opened wider as I lowered down further and I felt the penetration inside me. As I slowly rock back and forth, I seemed to hear his muffled moans through my mouth. I wanted to make him breathless too and to give him a new level of highness with a limited amount of air going into him. This ounce of intimacy is one that I cannot enjoy with my ex-husband or with anybody else but only with him. As he yanked his mouth off mine, He held my waist and took over to rock me back and forth. My hands felt limp over his shoulders as they shivered when I tried to hold onto his firm and broad shoulders. As he intensified his motion, all I could do is to kiss his cheeks weakly and around his chin. His moans from his mouth seemed to amplify with his well-defined jaw line and his titillations on my breasts and nipples made me arch backwards slightly, closing my eyes in pure ecstasy.

Suddenly, he turned me around and lay me flat at the foot of the bed. A small part of my head was in contact with the pointed end of the bed. As he went on top of me in the conventional missionary style, my soft moans synchronised with his motion of back and forth into me. His hands grabbed onto my breasts as I could feel that his love was slightly turning into lust. Our copulation seemed to turn the kaleidoscope of the various hues of pink into the fiery reds of their respective shades.

As our moans grew louder and hoarse, I could feel my body inching closer towards the edge of the bed. As the sound made by his stomach onto mine was increasingly louder and more frequent, I felt my body slowly inching out of the bed. I felt that my head was in the air and I could only just let my head relax and hang backwards. As the blood slowly rushed to my head, I could feel my climax slowly closing in. I closed my eyes as my hands started to grab his arms tightly. I felt that I had switched to a surreal environment as this erotic inversion sent tingles to my upper body.

“Arhh, baby,” his shouts came with the fastest motion he could produce and they gradually come to a stop.

As I felt something warm oozing into me,  my climax came almost instantaneously after his and it was an out of the world experience, my arms just flung backwards helplessly as I felt that I was about to fall of the bed. I felt the pressure going into my head and it seemed to start burning from my neck up as heat suffused my whole body. I felt like passing out with pure pleasure and ecstasy.

“Baby, I love you,” his sentence was punctuated with a kiss in our lips as he held my head up.

“I love you too,” I did not know whether I meant it or not but I blurted it out anyway.

As we got up, I saw droplets of blood oozing out of his arm.

“Oh my god, my nails sunk into your arms, you are bleeding,” I cried out as I quickly glanced around to find some tissue paper.

“It’s nothing, baby. It shows that you enjoyed it very much just now. Its mild as compared to the scars you gave me on the back of my shoulders,” his sentence made me blush a little.

As I pat the tissue paper lightly on his wound, he held my hand as his fingers outlined my arms to my shoulders.

“Your skin is still as smooth as before, you really maintain your body very well,” Andy spoke as his hands started to move up from my shoulders to my hair.

I smiled as I could feel his fingers running through my hair. As my long wavy hair rested on my breasts, I felt the occasional tingling as his fingers touched them with only my hair that separated this contact.

“This heart-shaped bed is so perfect with you and me together. You shall take this side and I would take the same side as you!” he exclaimed on the last few words as he started to go on top of me and hugged me.

“Get off me, you rogue, haha,” I hit him playfully, trying to get him off me.

“Not till you promise me that you can be my woman, I am not going to let you go again. I want to stay in Singapore and stay care of you,” his words were so assuring but yet unbelievable.

“After eight years, you still have the same feelings for me?” I felt amused but yet a nice feeling lingered inside me.

“Yes and I have no reason. Perhaps it’s a rekindled passion for you,” his natural reply seemed to be candid.

As he started to speak again, my eyes felt like closing. I could not make out what he said but he hugged me and I felt his warm body against mine and soon I felt asleep.

“Good morning baby. I have breakfast ready on the table,” my eyes were half-closed as I replayed the words that Andy said, not being able to catch it for the first time.

I felt so loved by Andy. I did not know what to say and I just ate my breakfast with him and he fetched me to work after that.

It was from that day onwards, I started to meet Andy more but sometimes I would meet Rick. My attitude towards Rick changed gradually. At first the enthusiasm of meeting Rick was still there, but after two months, it gradually waned. Although Rick asked me from time to time, I tried to avoid the question or gave excuses along the way.

It was 6 months later when I met Rick at East Coast Park that I had to make the decision and it was a very painful one.

“Hi Alicia, how are you? Ready to go out for a drink somewhere nearby,” Rick was very eager to see me as always.

I gave a worried face and I did not know how to break the news to Rick.

“I have something to tell you, Rick,” my emotions went up a notch or two, I was trying to control my tears from coming out.

“What’s wrong? Don’t scare me,” Rick held my shoulders.

“Sorry Rick, a few days ago, you asked me to be your girlfriend. I did not give you a straight reply. I have found somebody else,” my heart felt like dropping when I blurted out those words, my head looked down not daring to look at Rick.

“Alicia, to be honest, I have already felt that your interest in me is getting less and less. I was expecting the inevitable,” Disappointment was written all over his face as he held my head up.

“You are a good man, you are responsible and you know how to take care of people, but as for the other guy, he is very special to me. I cannot reject him, I am sorry,” I sobbed a little as I hugged him tightly, not knowing what to do next.

As he embraced me, I felt a renewed sense of security, something which I cannot fathom. After he comforted me, he started to tell me more about his life. I felt that during this conversation, the amount of things that I had known him seemed to be more than the six months that I had been interacting with him.

“Why? Why only tell me right now? You are so secretive in the past and hardly reveal anything, but now you have changed,” I felt a concoction of guilt and regret being forced straight down my throat, not knowing whether the decision I had made was too quick.

“Don’t you regret making this decision too fast and too soon?” Rick asked as he was driving me to a nearby place to grab some drinks.

I did not know how to reply. His questions set me to ponder and I cannot find the right answer to the question.

“I am not sure. My feelings for you are complex. It’s something which I cannot use just a sentence or two to describe. But I can tell you that it was a painful decision to let you go and it’s a big risk to choose him to be my boyfriend and possibly spend the rest of my life with him,” I was careful with my words, not knowing why I should do that.

“If I were to do or tell you something, would it change your decision?” his words seemed to strike me with a bolt of lightning.

What would Rick do or tell Alicia? Catch it on the final part, part 3!

It will stop raining eventually..(Part 1)

This is a story gathered by 3 encounters of women in Singapore, I believe that writing out these stories can be able to project some of the true emotions and feelings of these women and also partially myself too. I hope the 3 women who would be reading this story would be able to relate to some parts of it. Its the first time I would be including myself (of course with a pseudo name). The protagonist is Alicia who struggles to find her true love. The inspiration came as my first 2000 words were written in less than 45 minutes, but it was a mess of mashed-up emotions. I had to re-edit it heavily. I hope that you would appreciate the effort as it's very hard to blend in these 3 encounters of women into one single character in one story. Enjoy!

"Hi, how have you been?" I sneaked up from behind as I saw him slouching against his car door and tapped on his shoulder.

"Hey babe, I am doing great. I thought you would take a long time to get down, princess," his tone hinted specks of sarcasm but yet a unique form of wittiness.

"I don't want to make a guy wait for 30 minutes or longer, just 15 minutes and I would be ready to go down," I explained to him as I beamed the widest smile at him and lifted up my shades to put them on top of my head .

Rick's lips moved a little but I couldn't really hear what he was trying to say or try to lip read what he was trying to say. Although I know him through a mutual friend for quite some time, it was hard to get him out for dinner as he was always busy. Although I met him a few times, the time spent with him was pretty short but I loved his company and I was glad that I could get him out for dinner on a Saturday early evening eventually.

Along the way to our destination, we chatted a little as we tried to catch up on each other. I can see that he is quite a nice chap. He is someone that I can click with. Some of my friends say that horoscope do play a part to a successful relationship. Seriously, I just take it with a pinch of salt, maybe two. I just prefer to let things be natural.

"Do you feel warm? I forgot to adjust the temperature of the air-conditioner in the car just now, " Rick realised that the weather was getting hotter as the evening sun started to give a subdued red glow in front of us.

"Its alright, let me adjust the temperature myself," I smiled at his direction as I gave a light tap on his arm, my shades were put down to where it should be as the sun rays seemed to be like darts flying towards my direction.

As he put his arm on the arm rest, his hand was on top of mine, but I did not know why I did not take his hand off me. Maybe it was a comfortable feeling that he gave to me which I cannot fathom.

After our dinner, I realised that he does not talk that much when we were eating. Except for a few words of exchange, we were quiet throughout the meal. Sometimes, I just wondered what he was thinking at times when he seemed to be staring in the blank for a while and sometimes look to me and just smiled when I asked him for his thoughts.

As we strolled along East Coast Park, the evening sun which seemed to be sinking slowly into the water at the horizon was beautiful. Most of the ships were at a standstill as they seemed to be taking a breather. The beach was relatively quiet with the occasional screaming of young children running around the beach as the sand that flew up behind them seemed to be a measurement of their enthusiasm of their activities. As we sat down on the bench, there was an awkward silence between the both of us. The surrounding noises seemed to be subdued by it.

"Do you have anything to tell me or ask me?" I initiated the conversation, not knowing what else to ask as I looked at his direction, hoping he could tell me something, anything.

"Well, I still remember this same spot where I first dated my ex-girlfriend. I still remembered this tree where we actually tried to climb up but of course we could only make it to the lower branches and not higher," his words seemed to be random, something unexpected from him as he pointed at the tree diagonally in front of us just ten metres away.

"You have a good memory. If I am not wrong, that happened about seven years ago. It seemed to leave a very deep impression inside you," I did not know what else to say as I did not expect him to dig out the past.

"Then what happened? How come you broke off with her? I would like to hear more," I continued as he just stared at the tree without saying a word and I anticipated that he could tell me more.

"Well, it's a pretty long story and I initiated the break-up. It took me about almost a year to recover fully from such an episode. I do not wish to rake the past. Hopefully you don't get offended, but I guess yours was a worse experience where you were married and because your marriage did not work out, you are now single again. I guess in your case, its a big waste that the four years with him had just gone down the drain," Rick breathed heavily in between sentences as he look at the beach, giving a solemn look as he clasped his hands together resting his arms on his knees.

"It was not easy for me, seriously. Now I am back to square one, where I can hopefully find my happiness once again. There were many times where I tried to compromise and give in to him. He seemed to be always be with his friends and he was not focused in his career," I tried to withhold my tears from coming out as I felt a mild burning sensation in my chest.

"I am sorry to raise it up.," Rick put his arm around my shoulder as I leaned towards him, sobbing a little.

"Its alright, I would be fine," my words in between my sobs seemed to be minced up in my mouth as I tried to speak.

As I put my arms around his torso, I had a very warm feeling with him comforting me. As he stroked my hair gently, I felt as if I was like a baby in his arms and my tears came to a stop eventually.

"Do you think that I can find someone to be with and start all over again in the near future?" I did not know why I blurted out such a question but it seemed to come out from my mouth without me thinking.

"Of course you can, but I guess you got to open your eyes wide and assess whether he is the right one before you take the plunge. Marriage is an important chapter in a person's life. You would not want to make a second mistake," Rick seemed to be humming into the air as his words were slightly muffled with my head snuggled into his arms, my ears partially covered.

Although we have been going out a few times before, that day was the first time when we were much closer together as we chatted and opened up to each other more. I felt that I was compatible to him, but yet I needed more time to be sure whether there is a possibility that we can go the next step.

Within these three months, Rick and I were going out more and more often. I was surprised that he was willing to spend more time to be with me and even though it was quite late at night at times, I was elated to see him.

"I realised that after three months, I do not really know you very well. You seemed to be secretive and perhaps hiding something from me," Those comments just shot out of my mouth.

Rick froze my steps as he looked at me.

“Maybe, in due time, I can tell you more bit by bit, but I was hoping that we can progress between us,” his nonchalant tone and what he told me, was not something that I wish to hear.

"We would see how it goes." I did not dare to look at him in the eye as I did not want to see his reaction. I was not actually scared but I did not want to give the impression that I want to hurt him deliberately.

"Its just that since we seemed to be compatible and have feelings for each other, maybe I would not raise this up again," Rick's tone did not seem angry, but there were traces of disappointment in between his words.

As we sat down at the benches, the cool breeze caressed my face which seemed to be seducing me to sleep. As I lean again his shoulder, the only sound that I could hear was the slight purr that came from the waves hitting the coastline. Suddenly, I thought of something that I had almost forgotten. When I suddenly sat up, Rick seemed to be startled.

"What happened, babe?" Rick put his arms around my shoulder.

"Close your eyes first, Rick, don't worry I wouldn't not eat you up," I was trying to come up with a joke to lighten the atmosphere.

As Rick closed his eyes obediently, I opened up my purse and took out two rings and since they were small, I figured out that they could only be worn on his last finger. As I put one into his last finger and another, Rick fidgeted but his eyes still remained close.
"Why do you give me those?" Rick figured out that it was a ring.

"I bought them from overseas. I figured out that you would like them. You told me that you would like to buy another ring, but I wanted to give you these two rings that I have kept for quite a few years. They are for you. You can open your eyes to see," I was satisfied when I looked at his left hand.

"Although the design is very simple, they complement with my other ring on my middle finger," Rick felt elated as he admired the present that I gave to him.

Rick gave me a hug and as we looked at each other. Our eyes met each other. I was breathing hard with anticipation, hoping that Rick could make the first move to kiss me. I closed my eyes slowly as I felt his warm mouth touching mine. Our lips sliding against each other as our tongued touched. As I felt the deep passion from him, I could not help but reciprocate as our mouths interlocked and became more aggressive with every second. I felt more emotionally attached to him.

As he finally let go, I did not want to let that moment go, I looked at his eyes intensely as I put my hand around the back of his neck as my fingers run round his neck to the front as my hands went to his shoulders. This new-found passion seemed to be built into a ball where hollowness and emptiness only filled that ball. On the surface, I could feel the connection between us, but yet deep inside, my search for something which I cannot fathom seemed to be void.

For 3 months, we could talk a lot in general but yet I did not know much about him. In fact when I asked his good friend about him, his good friend was quite clueless too about some aspects of his life too. It was this gap that I had that made me hesitate to be with him, but I did not want to tell him. Maybe he might tell me eventually when he really opened up to me in time to come.

It was another boring day in the office. Ever since I shifted my office, I did not enjoy my new surroundings. It was a bore to face two of my colleagues whom I disliked the most where I had to sit in between them. It was about three in the afternoon when an unexpected call came. It was Andy! I was so delighted that he called.

"Hey Andy, how are you?" I returned the call eagerly.

"Hey sweetie, its been a long time since we have talked. I am back to Singapore for good," Andy's voice was cheerful as he reciprocated back my tone.

"Can we meet up this evening after my work?" I hoped for a positive answer.

"Sure babe, I was hoping that we can even meet up this very minute, but I guess its alright that I have to wait a couple of hours," Andy's reply really made my day.

"Hey Andy," I was greeted with a hug outside my office building. A bouquet of roses came out from nowhere.

"Andy, you are always the same. Old habits never die," I took the roses as I smelled the scent which refreshed me straight away.

As we went nearby to have our dinner, I could not help but smile at him all the time. I did not know why, Andy was someone that I knew for very long. We were together for a short while before I know Marcus, my ex-husband as he had to go to the States to work for about nearly eight years. Now he had come back to Singapore for good.

“Do you know that I really miss you when I was the States? I did not even know you were married. You did not even tell me,” Andy grabbed my hand across the table as he put down the glass of red wine on the table.

“Andy, I did not mean to hide you, but you were away. I did not think of telling you about my marriage, but at least now that you are here, I am really glad that you did not change much,” my feelings for him seemed to be reignited by Andy.

“Want to come up to my place?” Andy grabbed my hand firmly with his question short and sweet and he smiled as he acknowledged my nod.

“Wow, your place is really fabulous,” I looked around the living room.

“I designed this whole place, myself,” his words rushed in, trying to interrupt my sentence as his hands brushed the leather sofa seat.

As I glanced at the paintings, I felt his warm body pressing lightly against me.

“These paintings are replicas with limited pieces from the famous painter, Picasso, I managed to get them in France, on the way back to Singapore,” his hands went round my waist subtly.

“You have never changed much in many aspects,” Andy’s hands gently grabbed my waist as he whispered into my right ear, blowing it gently.

I felt seduced by his statement and his touches. As I was slowly led into the bedroom, I was surprised by the shape of the bed.

“It’s a heart shape,” I exclaimed as my hands raised a little touching my cheeks.

“I always sleep on this side of the bed. This heart-shaped bed needs two people, would you be the other person?” his hands went round my waist.

My thoughts meandered around my mind. Even though I did not see Andy for eight years, the moment when I saw him in just less than 8 hours ago, I felt that my last kiss with him in the airport before he went to the States was just yesterday.

“Come sit down,” as he tugged my hand…

What would happen next? Look out for part 2!
